Supernatural Alum Misha Collins Announces Road Trip Restaurant Series, Roadfood

It’s been nearly a year since the long-running CW series Supernatural came to an end. Now, actor Misha Collins — who played the lovable and sometimes confused Angel of the Lord Castiel — is heading out on the road again, but for his own food series called Roadfood: Discovering America One Dish at a Time.

In the announcement video, the Supernatural alum explains that he’s picking up where authors Jane and Michael Stern left off. The couple was famous for traveling across the country and documenting their experiences sampling regional dishes.

I was jealous of Sam and Dean always touring the country in their ’67 Impala, so I’m doing my own American road trip show for @PBS. Wanna come along for the ride? https://t.co/LI67oaYDjZ@Roadfood123

In Roadfood, Collins will explore communities across the United States, getting a taste of what makes them so unique and united. The 13-episode first season will see him meet with locals to “learn about their community, history, and values.”

Since Supernatural ended in 2020, Collins, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have wasted no time in moving on. Padalecki quickly picked up the lead role in the Walker, Texas Ranger reboot for The CW, which is currently airing its second season. Meanwhile, Ackles is set to portray the superhero Soldier Boy in the highly anticipated third season of Prime Video The Boys, reuniting with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. He’s also narrating The Winchesters, a Supernatural prequel series announced by The CW in June.

Roadfood: Discovering America One Dish at a Time premieres Saturday, Nov. 27 on PBS and will stream the following day on the Amazon PBS Food Channel.
