A former Shangri-La Singapore and Din Tai Fung chef, Wang Jingjun, 41, has opened his own fried rice stall, Chef Wang Fried Rice, at Beo Crescent Hawker Centre.
The chef had previously spent three years at Shangri-La Singapore’s Shang Palace and a year at Din Tai Fung (DTF).
Speaking to 8 Days, Wang explained that he chose to sell fried rice as it is “a dish that everyone, young, old and in between, can enjoy.”
He added that the fried rice he whips up is the culmination of his experience preparing DTF-style fried rice and sambal fried rice in Shangri-La’s Shang Palace.

A number of online reviews have said that the fried rice doesn’t actually measure up to Din Tai Fung’s, so manage your expectations if you’re heading down.
At this price point, however, no one is really complaining.
Not his first venture
According to 8 Days, Chef Wang Fried Rice is not his first venture.
Wang had previously opened a zi char stall at a food court in Sengkang back in 2019.
Unfortunately, he closed it after two years as “the rent was too high.”
